7 Essential Items to Keep at Work

You spend almost as much time at work as you do at home, but probably only take with you not much more than a backpack or purse. Plan ahead, and make sure you have your at-home essentials available during your work day.

Stain remover

You will be eating and drinking throughout the day at work, and at some point, there is bound to be a mishap. Don’t let a coffee stain from the morning become part of your outfit for the day. Make sure you have a stain remover stick tucked away in your desk to save the day.

Back up outfit

Maybe your stain stick can help you with a drop of sauce from lunch or a splash of coffee, but it probably can’t help you with some serious damage like spilling the entire coffee or your whole lunch. Have no fear, keeping an emergency outfit in your office or even in your car can be your safety net for a clumsy day at the office.

Antihistamine

Often times brands like Benadryl sell mini packets for travel so you don’t have to buy and store an entire bottle. It can never hurt to keep one on hand in case of a serious allergic reaction that could happen to you or even a coworker.

Sewing kit

Whether your coat gets stuck on a door, your shirt in a drawer, or your pants get a pesky hole, don’t let it distract you from the work day you have ahead. Take a few minutes to patch it back up by having an emergency sewing kit on hand so you are ready to take on the rest of your day.

Bandages

Can’t hurt to be prepared! Your office should have first aid kits, but it is nice to have band aids readily available at your desk so you don’t have to waste time searching for a simple fix for something minor, like a paper cut.

A sweater

Summer, winter, fall, or spring, the office may be freezing either because of the weather or because of the air conditioning that may work a little too well, so you want to be comfortable at all times.

Desk fan

Prepare for the worst! Air conditioning is a luxury that every now and then may fail us. Be prepared, and don’t sweat it on the hotter days at the office.
